"Very nice. A house full of love and kindness. The hosts were welcoming and had very good advice on what to visit. They even recommended us a pretty nice free concert in a nearby city. Breakfast was very good. The cake was delicious. Under the summer heat, it was not that warm inside Thank you!"

"Very good place in the middle of the mountains. Your will wake up with birds singing. The Rooms are nice and spacious. Amazing breakfast (one of the best apple cakes ever - and the owner let me take slice for the road. The owners are very friendly and always there to help."

"WOW what a special place with so much history, we loved absolutely everything about our visit. The hotel was stunning, our room was huge, clean, and comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful with hot water and heaps of pressure. Lovely property gardens to walk through. Most of all, our hosts Manuel and Amelia were so kind, friendly, and helpful. 100% recommend!"

"Absolutely superb stay. The owners were very nice and available to help you in any way they could. Wonderful well kept and renovated property that captures the wonders of history and Portuguese culture. A petit boutique hotel lost in the valleys of the country side with enough privacy to feel comfortable but a touch of family to make it feel welcoming and warm. Lovely breakfast with fruit and homemade cake. Everything was just perfect. Would definitely recomend and return."

"It might be a tiny bit out of the way if you are considering visiting the Serra do Gerês. But I wouldn't even consider that a downside, just a way to get away from the people and the confusion."

"As a trail rider, the location is perfect as the ACT trail runs along the road the property is accessed from. Bike security is good here too as you're so far from the road, up the farm track."

"Stunning location, with beautiful views over the river from the garden. The house is just about the best we've stayed on, with very high quality appliances, insulated windows and doors, and very tasteful decor (the night lights illuminating the waterfall are beautiful). It was magical coming back to it after long day walks in Geres. The house and surroundings are ideal for a restful holiday and our little dog Kenzo loved the garden."

"This house at that location is just a little paradise. The access via a pretty steep and narrow road is a little challenging - it is therefore good, to rent a car, which is not too big. The location directly at the Rio Caldo is great, you can go swimming every day - even in October. the furnishing shows a lot of taste of the owner Miguel - he is btw very friendly and super pragmatic - we loved the stay in his house a lot and are already discussing to come back."

"We were lucky enough to spend four nights in the garden cottage at Casa Vitoriana recently. Such a beautiful spot to relax & come home to after a busy day/long evening. The property has lots of old world charm as you would expect from a grand house built in Victorian times, so if you are the type who prefers all white & modern this isn’t the place for you. If however, you would relish the chance to spend time in an historical building & enjoy the charms of Maria’s wonderful garden this could be just what you’re looking for. I would recommend a local pizzeria if you’ve had your fill of traditional Portuguese food, Nonnas is very close by & a brilliant, fun, pit stop. The ice cream parlour in the next street over from Nonnas is also exceptional. Have fun."
