"We stayed for two nights in the quiet, but picturesque Cooks Beach. Really comfortable room with good facilities (hot plate and microwave for cooking), a short walk to the river and the beach. Ideal location for visiting Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach but away from the crowds. John recommended an excellent restaurant in town (Kaizen) which we were grateful for after a long drive up."

"John the owner was very helpful with advice and sorting out the internet which wasn't working when we arrived. The apartment is small but well equipped and all we needed for two nights. The shower was very hot and had good pressure. The unit is in a residential area of Cook's beach and backs onto a waterway. Kayaks are available to use which was nice although we were never there at high tide!"
"Unfortunately a house is being built on the plot next door so the patio and unit are now both overlooked by builders from fairly early in the morning which wasn't ideal but obviously not the owners fault. Perhaps a higher fence can be installed to give more privacy."

"This is such a lovely place to stay. It backs onto a gorgeous river estuary and they have kayaks in the backyard that you can borrow in order to explore! Facilities were fantastic, very tastefully decorated and super comfortable. Very nice touch to provide breakfast. There is also a shovel waiting on thr garden patio to take to the hot beach :)"

"We made a last minute booking at Smylies and were very pleased with the accommodation. Friendly welcome from Keiko who showed us to our motel room. Good sized room with a well equipped kitchen for self catering. Nice big comfy bed and hot shower with a nice lounge area & TV. We were next to the main road but it wasn't too busy or noisy. We had a great night's sleep. The grounds are varied with animals nearby, a lush garden to explore and outdoor seating for relaxing. We were invited to visit the library and games area if we wanted. Colin was happy to share useful advice about the weather conditions and places we could visit along route to our next stay which we accepted and enjoyed along our journey. Many thanks Colin! We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Smylies."
