Beautiful dark wood colonial style in the bedroom, very cool but for those of us of a certain age a bit too dark

"The decor and peace and quiet - despite being in middle of town. The individually decorated room was compact but had everything a weary traveler needs.. The food and drinks in the cafe were delicious and freshly made. The hotel owner was charming. I felt very comfortable there."

The only drawback is that one cannot park directly in front of the hotel which is also an advantage as one is not disturbed by traffic noise .

"Дуже милий готель. Зручний доїзд. Чистий номер з усім необхідним. Смачний сніданок. З самостійною реєстрацію проблем не було. Єдине зауваження, у інструкції яку видає термінал паспорт проводиться з правого боку вліво. Але в такому випадку він не спрацює. Якщо проводити зліва направо все гаразд. Господар надав дуже чіткі інструкції наперед."

У нашому номері не повністю закривався душ, але нічого критичного.

"A very warm and helpful host who gave us great support. My mother unfortunately injured herself while hiking and he didn't hesitate for long and applied hot compresses with salt. As she could no longer walk, he even gave her a walking frame and drove us personally to the train station on our departure. The location was great. A bit away from the busy main street and yet everything is within walking distance."

"Cette maison d'hôtes est charmante. J'ai été à l'aise....comme à la maison. Le jardin est paisible. J'ai apprécié le calme et le personnel qui était au petit soin. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. J'ai apprécié aussi la proposition d'un chauffeur depuis l'aéroport compris dans le tarif. Il y a un super marché à 300m bien pratique."

Not too clean (still very acceptable and I would return). Single bed (would loved to have 2 separate beds). Air conditioner is fairly weak.

"The property was super quiet, the bed is like a literal cloud, a fridge perfect to fill your drinks, complimentary tea and coffee. Not too forget the amazing pool."

"Keeps its promises. The owner, Mr Fadiga saved my life after the Radisson hotel had cancel my booking (and the booking of 30+ guests) without informing us of this in advance. Facing the emergency situation, Mr Fadiga kindly confirmed and ensure there would be a room available for me. He told me that Mr Manet would pick me up from the airport and all promises were kept. Mr Manet was professional, friendly and helpful from the beginning to the end. He took me everyday to the the conference I had come to attend (1 hour away) and back. He was always punctual and easy to reach. This was an excellent service. The room was very large and clean. The hot water tank, air con and TV worked perfectly."

Location is bit far away from the city if you have a car then no problem , there is free parking and the great thing is you would have lovely city view. "It was really good value for money in the area, the breakfast was nice and filling, egg made fresh, avocado, toast, fruit, coffee and tea. The room was really nice we thought it might be cold but the blankets kept us perfect temperature. Only a 4 minute drive from the bus terminal. The man on reception kindly flagged a tuktuk down for us in the morning to the terminal."

When booking on here, It wasn't too clear about the extra cost of breakfast and also when we arrived, the receptionist told us what time this was but then when we came down for it the next morning, said we had not booked. Needs to be clear on check in and booked then. It would have perhaps been good to have been informed about the wedding taking place when we were there.

Tout était appréciable, au niveau de l’emplacement et pour l’espace d’ensemble. La piscine a un petit problème de fuite d’où un niveau de hauteur d’eau un peu bas. Ceci n’a que très peu altéré le plaisir de s’y être baigné.

Long walk to the town

"Great location by the sea and near the harbour. Nice, old-fashioned interior decoration, mirroring the age of some of the buildings. Very friendly staff who let us keep our freezer packs in their freezer. We went kayaking for one night, could leave our car at their parking lot, and when we came back we could use their facilities to get a fresh water shower."

On the second day there was a slight smell in the bathroom but nothing too serious , a little plumbing will sort that out !

"Located in a quiet, idyllic location near the town center, it felt like a little retreat every time we returned home. It’s a spacious house which keeps cool due to the tiling and multiple doors you can open. We didn’t need air con in September. We could close the gates so the dogs couldn’t get in, this allowed the kids to play outside. The three year old was so excited to have swings. After time in the outer islands we really needed to freshen up, so the showers and washing machine were helpful. There was good amounts of drying space, the kitchen was fully functional, and we were given our space to enjoy our holiday."

Tonga is super basic so expectations of any accomodation need to keep this in mind.
