"We were looking for an experience different from a usual hotel stay & La Chartreuse Haut-Bailly definitely offered that. The Chateau is clean and beautiful. Can tell they refurbished it & tastefully done with it’s own charm. The breakfast experience is superb, just like it was mentioned in other review. We can tell the host takes a lot of pride in preparing the breakfast from table layout to the food. It’s not just tastefully done, it’s delicious as well. We looked forward to breakfast everyday. We left something behind after check out and the staff arranged it to be shipped back to our country of residence. "Everything. Guy, the host is a very friendly, warm and welcoming person. We spoke in French so I don't know about other languages but he provides his guests with lots of useful info about the area and Dordogne in general. The cottage is well equipped with a lovely garden."
