Between Bayeux and Caen this hotel is 6 km from the WWII Normandy landing beaches and 6 minutes’ drive from Creully Castle, the BBC’s WWII communications hub. Set in a 1-hectare garden, it offers a terrace and TV lounge. The Château comprises two buildings, a second being the adjacent Villa Mathilde with its own courtyard setting. The rooms are simply decorated and include an en suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath. A buffet breakfast is offered daily and can be enjoyed on the terrace. For other meals you can enjoy traditional cuisine in the dining room with a garden view. An 18-minute drive from the typical Norman seaside resort of Courseulles-sur-Mer where you can go sailing, this hotel is 12 km from Bayeux SNCF Train Station.

"Beautiful building with an interesting history, particularly the theme regarding the liberation of France of WW11. The busiest g is showing signs of being tired, but the experience of the stay far outweighed the condition. Lovely continental breakfast."

"Having booked the accommodation to escape a night camping in the pouring rain, the Chateau Baffey was exactly what we needed. The staff were very accommodation considering we were soaking and had somewhere to put our bikes. The bar was comfortable and breakfast was a good continental spread. The room was large enough to fit all four of us."

"We have stayed here many times over the years and it has always been good. Room was clean although may need a refresh soon. Restaurant is good under the new management. Plenty of parking nearby, limited space in front of the hotel. Rooms on the busy road side of the building have been found noisy by some reviewers but we have never been concerned."

"Well located property in the centre of the village, easy walking distance to the beautiful beach. Plenty of room for 2 people. Property was clean and comfortable, good kitchen facilities, seating area in garden good for an early evening glass of wine. Bedroom spacious and very comfortable bed."

"The ground floor villa was extremely clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable. It was very well equipped, and there was plenty of outdoor space, with the choice of 3 separate areas. Parking was off road at the villa. However when we were there, there were quite a few mosquitos. Dominique, the host, was very helpful and friendly. The villa was about a 10 min walk from the centre so ideally situated and a great market on a Tuesday."
