"A stunning house in lovely gardens! A real privilege to stay here! The room was comfy,spacious and clean! The breakfasts were very good! The hosts were so lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend staying here!"

"A wonderful historic building, this traditional hotel has been beautifully restored and combines fabulous antique furniture and paintings with modern comfort and plumbing! The breakfast is delicious, individually prepared and served by the hosts, Anne-Rose and Hughes Fontanet, including eggs from their own hens, as well as fresh fruit and pastries. Nothing is too much trouble, M. Fontanet even fetched us from the station at Valognes himself, when a delayed train meant we missed the last bus and there were no taxis available. If you are interested in the history of Robert the Bruce and the Bruce family, do ask, the Fontanets have much information they are happy to share."

"We enjoyed exploring the grounds of the hotel and the village of Brix, which is easily accessible on foot. For exploring further afield, including visiting local restaurants, a car is recommended. Public transport is limited. There is an excellent boulangerie in the village (Le Four de Brix) but no restaurants for evening meals."

"A real treat at the end of our trip to Normandy, a beautiful house decorated with style and filled with beautiful artifacts. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. A delicious breakfast was served in the gracious dining room. Our hosts were attentive, friendly and thoughtful."

"An excellent stay from start to finish. Our hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. Especially as we had booked online at the last minute due to our ferry being cancelled. We actually arrived about thirty minutes after our online booking, and our hosts hadn't even recieved that notification yet as it was Friday evening. They were really friendly and helpful. The Château is beautifully kept and managed. We would highly recommend a stay there."
