Hotel Restaurant Walliser Sonne enjoys a quiet location at the forest’s edge in the village of Gluringen, near the Alpine passes of Fürka, Grimsel and Nufenen. Run by a Dutch family, it offers panoramic views from every room, free WiFi and free parking. In summer, the Goms area is a great base for hiking, biking and motorbike trips. A 100-km network of cross-country ski runs and hiking paths is only 500 metres away, with free transfers available on request. Ski waxing and storage are available on site. All rooms feature bright wooden furniture, satellite TV and a bathroom with hairdryer. Located away from the main street, guests can enjoy a stay in a quiet countryside environment. Right next to the Hotel Walliser Sonne, there is ski school and a gentle slope for beginners and children. The ski areas of Fiesch-Riederalp-Bettmeralp and Bellwald, and the famous Aletsch Glacier, are easily reachable by public transport. During summer, guests can enjoy the buffet breakfast in the hall or on the garden terrace. In winter, guests can relax in front of the open fireplace. On request, dinner with daily menus of 2 or 3 courses is provided in the evening. On request, guests can be picked up from Gluringen Train Station, 500 metres away. The hotel’s owner speaks German, English and Dutch.

"Гарне співвідношення ціни і якості. Гарна природа навколо, кімнати нормальні, є все необхідне. Єдина проблема виникла з розетками, вони для тонкого штекера, тому ми не могли підключити ноутбук. Треба мати перехідник. Сніданок простий, але достатній. Рушники дійсно сірі, як і було вказано у багатьох відгуках.Ттому я взяла свої. Загалом мені сподаболя в готелі і у тому районі Швейцарії."

"Breakfast was really nice. Staff was incredibly nice too. I was late at check in and the lady left keys for me without any problems. 10/10 hospitality. Parking is available for free right in front of the hotel which is great. Great location too."
"The rooms were quite old style and bathroom was tiny. Also few spider webs here and. Also had a little visit from a spider in the shower. Also there was no lifts which made slightly difficult for my disabled wife as we was on the top floor. Another thing was some of the lights weren’t working in our corridors which made slightly difficult see at night."
